Provide Tatonga clients with solutions to management of their health and safety programs

Strong technical acumen in the area of occupational health, safety and risk management

You must have a minimum of 5-10 years of health and safety experience within the construction industry in Canada

Certification as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO or comparable)

Be up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all H&S legislation and any developments.

Work with our agency partners to share best practices related to H&S and jointly manage the return to work program.

Lead in-house training with the operations team to address health and safety issues and risks and transfer knowledge.

Manage the Workers’ Compensation program, claims, and modified return to work program.

Schedule appointments with injured/ill team members to understand their requirements.

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Health and Safety

Responsible for PIT certifications & licenses, including filing system for documentation purposes.

Maintain appropriate training records per Federal/State regulations and Company requirements for PIT equipment.

Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) train-the-trainer certification.

Experience training and delivering safety-related content to employees.

Outstanding communication skills, including proven ability to influence in all areas of an organization

Ability to meet attendance requirements

Working with the Health and Safety team members to manage and analyze HSE data

Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset

Previous 1+ years experience working in the construction industry would be a strong asset

Act as a resource to field operations to optimize safety work performance

Provide guidance and review of site incidents in developing supervisor’s skills in investigating and preparing detailed reports with strong corrective actions.

Partner with local agencies to develop strong relationships while developing a knowledge base within the dairy/food industry.

A degree/diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent work experience. Registered as Canadian registered safety professional (CRSP) is preferred.

2-3 years of Health and Safety experience in a medium to large organization.

Working towards a degree in Health Science, Safety Engineering, Health & Safety, Safety Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Training and assisting team members (Area Managers, Associates, Safety Team Members, etc.) to complete safety tasks (audits, following safety rules, etc.)

Performing specific safety training as required by the Safety Manager

This Candidate Will Have The Following Qualifications/skillset

At least 1 year of experience working in a health and safety role preferably within the construction industry (roofing preferred).

Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and strong tech skills to learn new technology.

Able to understand OH&S, environmental legislations and HSE processes.

Ability to identify risks/hazards on site.

Able to problem solve and prioritize.

Experience working with management in both unionized and non-unionized environments.

Responsible for Health and Safety data management including trend analysis and reporting of safety performance to all levels of the organization.

Completion of post-secondary education from a recognized Occupational Health and Safety program or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Maintain accurate and complete records that meet regulatory requirements.

Effectively manages resources and applicable budgets.

Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices through work site knowledge, employee interaction and work site inspections.

Post Secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety

10 + years of experience in an industrial health and safety role

Experience in the oil & gas sector would be an asset

Certifications such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CSSE / CHSC)

Broad knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and up to date on other related policies and procedures

Strong communication skills – written and verbal

Act as the company leader in facilitating company health and safety culture and implementation of COR certification process.

Monitors local regulations and client requirements and standards along with company policies and standards to ensure compliance.

Accredited HSE certification preferred (OHST, CHST).

Experience in the Construction industry an asset
