Head Of Finance Jobs

Our client, a rapidly growing early stage startup is looking for a Head of Finance to join their team as they are building their finance team from the ground up!

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop financial models and projections to support business planning, board reporting, and fundraising efforts
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Manage relationships with banks, investors, and other financial partners
• Manage cash flow and forecasting, and develop strategies to optimize financial performance
• Oversee the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
• Work closely with other departments to provide financial analysis and support to help inform decision-making
• Actively identify and execute against opportunities for enhancement, reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement
• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements
• Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements
• Provide leadership and mentorship to gaiia team members

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CFA preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP, ASPE, and financial reporting requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
• Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment strongly preferred
• Past experience with venture capital fundraising is an asset
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
