Guest Service Agent


First impressions are everything! As a Guest Service Agent, you will take care of the guests from the moment they arrive through to their departure by ensuring they have a memorable experience with us. Join Fairmont Waterfront and take part in the sustainable travel revolution at our harbor-front, eco-conscious hotel, which is home to Vancouver's first green roof and honey bee apiary!


What You Will Be Doing


  • Become familiar with group resumes ensuring all details of incoming and outgoing groups are observed
  • Maintain accurate records of daily transactions
  • Monitor rooms' inventory to assist in maximizing rooms' revenue
  • Handle guest requests effectively and promptly
  • Serve as sales agent promoting and up-selling hotel services
  • Greet, check-in, respond to requests and settle accounts while providing exceptional service
  • Cash handling which includes currency exchange and balancing a float
  • Proudly promote the hotel facilities, finding opportunities to enhance our guest’s stay and create a personalized experience


Qualifications


Your experience and skills include:


  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to speak another language fluently an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Hotel Management an asset
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, overtime shifts, split shifts and holidays
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Service focused personality is essential; previous Front Desk experience preferred
  • Computer literacy a must with Opera experience an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
  • A passion for Guest Service and a skill for anticipating guest needs

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
