Job Requirements


  • Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management
  • 1 year of experience as a Hotel Front Desk Clerk Preferred
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft and Maestro software packages
  • Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program in front desk operations or hotel management preferred


Duties


  • Responsible for checking guests in and out of the Hotel.
  • Book telephone reservations
  • Issues room keys, pamphlets, discount cards, etc.
  • Answers various questions from guests and arranges transportation for guests.
  • Check all unresolved departures.
  • Respond to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from clients, business partners, and other parties.
  • Print updated in-house, arrival, departure, and room status reports every two hours
  • Luggage assistance

Work with an amazing team at one of Lake Country's most desirable and reputable restaurants 'The Lookout Restaurant located at Gray Monk Estate Winery! The successful candidate will be responsible for daily service delivery of all Food and Beverage service operations ensuring high-quality dining experiences. Areas of focus will include main dining rooms, seasonal outdoor patios/grills, group business/functions and events both onsite and occasional offsite.

We Are Looking For a Teammate With


  • Ability to work evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
  • Proven track record of leadership and coaching a team for high performance
  • Experience in Hospitality or a related field with a minimum two (2) years supervisory experience in an upscale restaurant environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Passion for customer service.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and function independently.
  • Self-motivated; able to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a busy multi functioning environment.


You Will Be Accountable For


  • Maximizing revenues per guest transaction (including up-selling) which entails an understanding of dining-Menu options/property wines / accessories / experiences / Wine Club membership benefits and events
  • Providing daily leadership to FOH team including leading pre-shift meetings, attending daily Functions meetings, ensuring menus and Function menus are prepared, as well Supervising Functions
  • Ensuring Dayforce/payroll is up to date and accurate for FOH team members
  • Understanding and compliance with COVID protocols
  • Ensuring a Safe and Healthy Work Environment through the effective operation of the Health and Safety program and Joint Health and Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with government regulations
  • Coaching FOH teammates to ensure performance/talent/service excellence is achieved
  • Incumbents for these roles must be a minimum of 19 years of age and in possession of a valid "Serve it Right" certification.
  • Motivating Supervisor(s) and FOH teammates to achieve assigned targets/incentives.
  • Opening and closing duties/responsibilities
  • Assisting with FOH teammate onboarding and training
  • Executing Restaurant Standards of Service and Restaurant Operational policies and procedures
  • Responding efficiently and effectively to guest concerns/complaint
  • Supporting the execution of business strategies to meet/exceed financial (including Wine Club sales) objectives
