Food Services Aide Jobs

Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll is actively seeking applicants for a Food Services Aide position. The Food Services Aide provides the resources required for the operation of the food services area.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of meals to patients.
• Participate in decision making process.
• Operate equipment in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Apply interpersonal skills that support the philosophies of our organization and our Mission, Vision and Values statement.
• Flexible and rotates activities within Food Service Area as scheduled.
• Responsible for ware washing as well as small wares equipment.
• Perform activities related to patient service and food preparation.
• Daily cleaning and sanitation of the food services equipment and area.
• Participate in the development and implementation of goals and objectives.
• Responsible for catering services as required.
• Responsible for attending relevant continuing education sessions.
• Ensures patient safety and infection prevention and control relating to the position
• Perform beltline activities.
• Utilizes and operates appropriate technical support systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Is knowledgeable of and applies good safety and sanitation practices.
• May be required to participate and buddy with other team members for orientation in various food preparation techniques.
• Responsible for the safe handling of food to ensure delivery of a quality product.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to privacy and confidentiality.
• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Food Service Worker certificate required or enrolled and actively pursuing completion of Food Service Worker certificate and/or food service experience acceptable to the hospital.
• Knowledge of computer software programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Current Food Handlers Certificate is required.
• Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated excellent attendance record and work ethic.
• Able to do heavy lifting, repetitive motions and standing for long periods of time.
• Established initiative and ability to work independently or as a team in a flexible manner.

Other Pertinent Conditions

• Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, stat holidays, day and evening shifts.
• Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($24.81 per hour to $25.46 per hour)
• As a part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19, the Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll requires that all staff have received the required doses of COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.
