Financial Analyst - Fixed Asset Accounting:

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Financial Analyst for a 12 month contract in (Calgary AB).

Financial Analyst - :

This is a one year contractor position. This role is responsible for the accounting and reporting of exploration and evaluation assets and property, plant and equipment. Working closely with business unit stakeholders, the role is accountable for maintenance of the fixed asset subledger, recording of capital transactions, month-end close activities and reporting, preparation of account reconciliations and maintaining controls over financial reporting.

Financial Analyst Responsibilities:

• Be an active member of the Finance team; support peers, brainstorm issues, complete ad-hoc requests, and be flexible in completing any assigned projects
• Assist in Statistics Canada surveys, financial audit and tax filing activities
• Prepare financial reports and analysis
• Perform month-end settlement and DDA run in SAP
• Involve in technology upgrades and changes related to fixed asset accounting
• Support overall compliance with SOX processes and controls. Create or update process narratives.
• Complete reconciliations
• Manage fixed assets by keeping track of all acquisitions, disposals, transfer of assets and maintaining the fixed asset subledger
• Perform accounting and reporting activities on a recurring basis to support an accurate and timely period-end close, including but not limit to:
• Report gain loss on sale of assets
• Post accruals and journal entries as required
• Identify and analyze possible improvements to processes and implement selected solutions
• Liaise with Corporate Planning and Corporate Accounting teams to facilitate budget and forecast preparation
• Report E&E and PP&E assets

Financial Analyst Mandatory Requirements:

• Advanced experience with SAP, SAP-BW and Group Reporting is highly desired
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a team-based environment and execute in a time-constrained environment
• Proven analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to communicate complex information into meaningful insights
• Knowledgeable in the application of International Financial Reporting Standards

Financial Analyst Assignment Length:

• 12 months with potential extensions
