Our Head office based in Kingsville, ON is currently seeking a Finance Manager to join our BerryWorld Finance team! Reporting to the Director of Finance, this is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team of analysts in the high-growth CEA industry (Controlled Environment Agriculture) and high-growth berry segment. The candidate should be highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented and extraordinarily passionate about building data driven solutions to business problems. The Financial Manager position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations, conducting financial analysis, forecasting financial performance, and communicating financial insights to the senior management team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Communicate and liaise inter-departmentally to ensure that financial information is shared
  • Financial goals are met
  • Manage aspects of the company's IT and ERP systems to ensure accurate and timely financial
  • Management team.

  • Provide guidance to the senior management team on financial matters, including risk
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Appropriately and effectively
  • Manage one staff member in the finance department and oversee their daily activities.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making and payment of
  • Management, cost management, and financial strategy
  • Must thrive at working collaboratively with sales and procurement leadership to achieve goals
  • Reporting
  • Leverage analytical insights to develop actionable items for improvement.
  • Manage margins to ensure the company's profitability
  • Aid in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to help guide decision-making and ensure
  • Conduct general financial analysis and provide recommendations for improvement to the senior




Education/Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, concentration in business, finance, commerce, mathematics,
  • Computer science or analytics preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including experience managing staff



Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Experience with ERPs (preferably MS Navision), Advanced Excel and Database skills (SQL, MS Access, JET reporting or other), exposure to Business Intelligence Tools.
  • Ability to think through the impact of master data on analysis.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse environment with sensitivity and
  • Working knowledge of Software systems.
  • Strong financial analysis skills with an ability to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
