PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Finance Manager, FP&A role will report to the Finance Director and will be an integral member of the Soul Restaurants Canada Finance leadership team. This role is responsible for leading and driving the preparation, analysis, and management of the company’s budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting process, including full financial statements and capital expenditures.

Soul Restaurants Canada, part of the Soul Foods Group, comprises of over 230 Restaurants and Stores including KFC, Taco Bell and Starbucks brands. POSITION FUNCTIONS

Financial Planning, Analysis, and Reporting (60%)

· Take ownership of the financial planning, analytics, and reporting for Soul Foods Group Canada.

· Lead and drive the development and implementation of an integrated full cycle planning process, from top-down guidance to bottom-up annual operating planning at restaurant level, including capital expenditure planning, income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet in partnership with finance peers and cross functional teams.

· Timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to internal and external stakeholders.

· Perform periodic consolidation and reporting of the Group’s financial results and appropriate financial statements.

· Monitor the external environment and scenario planning to anticipate business impacts and needs.

· Working closely with the Finance Director and Operations, performance manage the P&L by leading insightful analysis of ongoing financial results including pacesetter reviews.

· Stewardship of balance sheet, cash flow and working capital management.

Finance Business Partnership and Decision Support (25%)

· Participates in key decisions as a member of the finance leadership team.

· Strives for continuous improvements in processes for value-added business support.

· Proactively working in partnership with peer Finance teams and Operations on financial forecasting, planning, and analytics in enhancing financial decision making.

· Support key presentations of financial and business results.

· Other ad hoc support to cross functional team as needed.

People Coaching and Development (15%)

· Motivating and cultivating a high performing team. As a people leader, develop and coach team members in all areas of people management.

· Be an active participant in developing finance people strategy to build strong talent pipeline, through coaching and supporting growth and development.

· Develop breadth and depth of team; provide mentoring and coaching to team members to ensure they are developed and challenged in their roles to maximize their potentials.

POSITION IMPACT:

The Finance Manager, FP&A plays an integral role who will provide ongoing support to the company in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis for the entire company. The role is highly analytical and provides management with high quality analysis with insights to enable informed decision making that directly impacts the financial performance of the business.

Specialised or Technical Knowledge/Skills

Education and Qualifications

· Post-Secondary Education in Finance, Accounting or Business. MBA an asset

· Accounting designation CPA, CMA preferred

· QSR experience an asset

· +5 years of finance experiences in FP&A capacity

· Ideally with driver license and vehicle

· Self-starter with ‘Can Do’ attitude who can work independently and lead a team.

· Strong financial modelling and analytics capabilities with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

· Demonstrate ability to use expertise and skills to see the bigger picture and develop ideas in pursuit of positive outcome for the team and the organization.

· Ability to synthesize large amounts of complex information, clarify and evaluate significance and provide value added insights and high-quality analysis.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate and communicate with a diverse group of individuals, creating a collaborative environment of trust, and be able to influence changes both internally and externally.

· Strong organizational, time management and communication skills (verbal and written).

· Result driven, flexible and able to embrace and respond to change effectively.

· High literacy and proficiency with MS Office and accounting software with learning agility.
