Become a Facilities Specialist, Security and Emergency Management - Temporary Assignment up to 18 Months with MPAC

You are a focused individual who can coordinate the Security and Emergency Management portfolio in the Facilities Management branch at offices across the province. To undertake specific assignments related to projects and programs focused on planning, analysis, implementation, warranty, maintenance and stakeholder management.

You have:

  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as required
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel and MS Project) as well as other facilities-related software
  • Project management experience with a focus on scheduling and budgeting
  • Valid ‘G’ Class Driver’s License
  • Minimum 3-year College or University diploma/degree in a field related to Security and Emergency Management OR at least 8 years of Facilities Management related experience
  • Previous Facilities Security experience specific to administration, Emergency Management and Disaster Recovery, system design/technology


Nice to have:

  • Certification in Emergency Management
  • Familiarity with respective regulations and Acts as they pertain to facility construction projects
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, and Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act


What you will do:

  • Ensure the completion of regular inspections, audits and reports are done in a timely manner
  • Implement photo ID system(s)
  • On an on-going/ad-hoc basis, review and evaluate all site-specific plans to maintain effectiveness
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to identified parties at designated site locations on the policies, procedures, programs and processes for Security and Emergency Management
  • Champion multiple site plans specific to emergency management, mitigation/contingency strategies and facility disruption in reaction to internal and external emergency event responses
  • Report results and recommended actions regarding performance management audits and measured KPIs to Manager, Special Portfolios
  • Ensure that guidelines, standards and processes are in place for the implementation and maintenance of emergency and building security systems for all site locations
