CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for an Executive Director, Ontario! Reporting to the Vice President, Central Canada, the Executive Director, Ontario is a key role within CNIB with a primary focus of ensuring that individuals with sight loss have timely access to high quality programs throughout the province. The Executive Director, Ontario will successfully achieve this mission by developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal partners, senior leadership, volunteers, donors, government and other community partners. The Executive Director, Ontario develops and implements the operational area of CNIB’s Strategic Plan and serves as a spokesperson for the region and representative of the organization, its staff, volunteers, program expansion and execution of its mission while modeling and promoting the CNIB’s core values of empowerment, inclusiveness, passion, innovation, collaboration and integrity.


Your impact at CNIB


  • Ensures the smooth operation of provincial offices and addresses large property concerns in consultation with the Vice President, Central Canada.
  • Formulate and recommend budgetary and short- and long-term Provincial operating objectives.
  • Manage relationships with participants/local partners/groups as well as develop and foster community and business networks.
  • Recruit and steward Senior Leadership Volunteers while seeking their participation to execute the strategic plan.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to expand revenue generation to support existing and new programming, operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and coach the provincial programs and operations teams to achieve the objectives in CNIB’s Strategic Plan.
  • Lead Senior Leadership Volunteers and develop a workplan to support provincial and national efforts to achieve strategic goals.
  • Develop a strategic approach, framework and tactical advocacy plan for the region including leading stakeholder relations activities such as strategic planning, lobbying activities, relationship building, outreach with public and private entities (including consumer groups) and national advocacy representation.


Requirements


Who you are:


  • Sound stakeholder relations skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use multiple means of communication to effect change, achieve results and build a team.
  • Proven government relations and advocacy skills.
  • Sound business acumen including budget, performance management, change management and strategic planning.
  • Experience with vision loss or working with individuals with vision loss an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and resolve issues showing good judgment in a timely manner.
  • Passion for CNIB’s mission and objectives.


We want to hear from you if you have:


  • Not-for-profit and senior volunteer engagement experience (ideally gained through committee or board oversight).
  • Demonstrated success in program development and delivery, stakeholder and community relations, and human resources management.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 software.
  • Leadership capability for creating an empowered team of managers, staff and volunteers who are aligned with organization goals.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management programs such as Salesforce an asset.
  • Proven government relations and philanthropy experience.
  • Proven track record in a senior management role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Travel within the Province and occasionally within the Division and Nationally.
