We are looking for a talented Event Captain to lead our banquet department. If you are interested in hospitality, learning more about the administrative side of event planning, and developing a team with one of Canada's fastest-growing hospitality groups - this is the role for you!


As a Event Captain, you have the opportunity to develop and mentor the team of event servers, uphold standards for your department and have a direct impact on the success of the location. You will work directly with talented chefs, the Event Manager, and restaurant leaders as well as the hotel division.

The Role


  • Work directly with the event coordinators or hosts, and problem-solve in the moment when addressing questions or concerns that may arise during or before service.
  • Providing training, leadership, and mentorship for our event team.
  • Demonstrate leadership by building positive team morale.
  • Manage the floor staff by ensuring team members are dressed in uniform, and providing exceptional guest service in a friendly yet speedy manner.
  • Assist with inventory, stock, and product orders.
  • Identifying skill and leadership potential in your crew and developing those exceptional individuals into higher roles within our company.
  • Manage clients in an efficient yet organized manner including setting up meetings, forwarding contracts, billing, etc.
  • Actively lead the shift, in support of senior leadership, while helping to manage budgetary goals.
  • Deliver feedback and coaching to the event team.
  • Ensure event space is set correctly, food is presented well, and service goes off without a hitch.
  • Inspect Event areas at end of a function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean
  • Event execution and managing quality assurance.
  • Assist with site visits, walkthroughs, and inspections
  • Review & Respond to online guest feedback
  • Provide office coverage for Event Manager, booking events, managing emails and full office routine.
  • Ensure complete guest satisfaction and guest connection throughout each shift
  • To direct and control events in the facility at an excellent level while maintaining and abiding by all standards, policies, and/or procedures set forth by our company.


Key Requirements


  • Flexible schedule
  • Minimum 1-year Event Server Experience
  • High stamina, and ability to lift 20 lbs
  • Ability to create a positive working environment and provide ongoing positive feedback to colleagues, even during big events, resolving conflicts
  • Attention to detail & highly organized
  • Impromptu problem-solving skills when dealing with internal and external conflict
  • Pro-Serve certification
