Mission
Join our Structure team in the Estrie region. As a structural engineer, your mission will consist of participating in the management, design, and delivery of industrial projects.
You will be entrusted with various responsibilities in the framework of projects of small, medium, and large scale, primarily involving the reconstruction and modification of existing structures, and the construction of new ones.
You will collaborate with the other members of your highly qualified team to develop solutions customized to clients’ needs. You will be able to rapidly evolve in an environment where empowerment, autonomy and trust are strongly encouraged.
You will benefit from our hybrid work model (telework, office and field work) and participate in projects assigned to our Granby office.
Primary Responsibilities
Take charge of projects
Act as a design engineer for industrial structures
Perform studies and field surveys; prepare reports, technical notices, proposals, sketches, drawings and specifications, tender documents, and construction documents
Supervise the work of technicians, draftspersons, and junior engineers
Conduct on-site inspection and lead inspection or audit assignments for industrial buildings
Attend technical meetings and participate in multidisciplinary coordination
Solve technical problems requiring research and in-depth analysis
Actively participate in design and constructability reviews
Participate in the development of schedules and work methods
Ensure monitoring of budgets and schedules.
Provide technical assistance for work performed on industrial sites
Occasionally visit plants in remote northern regions
Ensure observance of the quality assurance system provisions
Profile
University degree in civil engineering or an equivalent (a major in structural engineering would be an asset)
More than two years of relevant experience
Experience in designing industrial structures
On-site inspection and work supervision experience in civil and structural engineering (an asset)
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
Knowledge of structural design standards
Command of the French spoken and written language – English (an asset)
Practical knowledge of SAFI software (an asset)
Valid driver’s licence
