Position:Electrical Services Manager

Location:Lloydminster, Alberta

Credentials:B.Sc. Engineering (P.Eng.) or P. Tech. (Eng.)

Experience/Responsibilities:

Minimum 10+ years office-based Oil and Gas project engineering and design experience.

Candidates must be registered with a Canadian Professional Engineering / Engineering Technologist Association.Candidates will have, or will immediately obtain and maintain, membership with the regulatory associations in the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan.PMP accreditation and project management experience will be considered an asset.

·Managing a group of approximately 12 electrical engineering staff involved in project management, design, procurement and engineering analysis.

·It will include both office and field supervision, and other related responsibilities in order to deliver high quality client service that meets technical, budget, schedule, and other contractual requirements.

·Excellent organizational and management skills;ability to manage multiple resources, projects and competing priorities; calm under pressure.

·Inter-personal, written & verbal communication skills are a necessity; to actively build positive relationships and engage directly with clients, vendors and staff.

·Highly motivated with proven judgement, analytical, and business skills.

·Require an extensive knowledge of oil and gas electrical systems including low and medium voltage power distribution, PLC and DCS control systems, equipment layout and control panel designs, hazardous area classification, cable sizing, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams etc.

·Perform detailed review and authentication of engineering and project deliverables including electrical engineering designs and reports, etc.

·Experience with Electrical engineering software systems (i.e. ETAP) including motor starting, load flows, coordination, short circuit and arc flash hazard analysis.

·Ensure all internal and client safety procedures and processes are followed with the goal of zero injuries or incidents.

·Expert knowledge of Alberta Safety Codes Act, the Canadian Electrical Code Part 1, the Code for Electrical Installations at Oil and Gas Facilities, and the Alberta Electrical Utility Code.

·Proven track record to create a sustainable continuous improvement culture by seeking to improve performance and work processes to be more efficient, more effective, and safer. This includes challenging the status quo and identifying and executing both strategic and focused improvement efforts that directly support the Plan, Execute, Review, Improve (PERI) cycle.

·Success in this role is defined by the ability to deliver detailed, creative, and coordinated design results. This requires you to pay great attention to detail, to be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with other team members, clients, and 3^rd party vendors. You need to be a critical thinker and are encouraged to think outside the box to find solutions for issues raised during the design process. Use your best judgement and do not be afraid of asking questions.

·A valid driver’s license with a clean abstract is required, as some local travel and field work will be required.
