What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a District Manager to oversee the operations of Cannabis NB stores across the northern part of the province. Reporting to the Director of Retail Experience, the District Manager acts as a liaison between the head office and retail locations to create and drive the vision for each store. They set district goals, develop and execute individual business strategies for stores, and ensure all locations adhere to company and provincial regulations and standards.

Additional Responsibilities Include

• Strategically planning sales targets, revenue projections, and labour hours
• Leading a profitable district by engaging the entire team to achieve the sales plan
• Analyzing hours, expenses, and P&L reports to provide recommendations and solutions
• Driving operational efficiencies and addressing and resolving problems as they arise
• Managing regional budget and store operational costs

About You

You bring a strong understanding of store operations and management processes, including profitability, health, safety, marketing, and merchandizing. You lead and coach with the company vision, mission, and core values in mind, and uphold the culture by incorporating the principles onto daily business practices. You are comfortable having open and honest conversations with your direct reports, and you hold your teams accountable for results.

Your team leadership

As a coach and mentor to the Store Managers and their teams, you are adept at creating a culture of best practices, where everyone is challenged to do their best. You put your people first, and build relationships based on trust, open communication, transparency, and kindness. You are an important contributor to the company’s overall success through constant communication, continuous feedback, and recognizing top talent via development opportunities and succession planning.

Your business leadership

You are a key member of the Retail Experience team and help balance risk while considering team member, store, and business perspectives. In collaboration with your fellow District Manager, you will provide analysis on store operations to increase overall effectiveness, and challenge and streamline processes to ensure they are efficient, effective, and value-added. You have a constant pulse on the district to provide updates and recommendations for trends, challenges, and opportunities.

What do you need to be successful?

• Strong background in coaching and mentoring managers
• Degree or diploma in Business Administration or similar
• An appreciation for pranks and practical jokes (or at least a good sense of humour)
• 5+ years in retail management, ideally at the district or multi-store management level
• Excellent analytical skills to review sales reports, revenue projections, and forecasts

Language competencies

• Bilingualism in both official languages is an required

Location

• Virtual (must be based in New Brunswick)
• The successful candidate must be able to travel frequently throughout the province (as COVID-19 restrictions allow)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
