Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of IT to lead our IT department for our manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of information technology, including the management and optimization of Microsoft Office 365, legacy ERP systems, and Microsoft Finance and Operations. In addition, the Director of IT will play a crucial role in building and managing a small support team to ensure the smooth functioning of our IT infrastructure across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the IT infrastructure, including network diagrams, system configurations, and procedures.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to define recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) for different systems and applications.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plan for the IT infrastructure.

• Monitor cloud infrastructure usage, costs, and performance, and implement optimizations as needed.

• Collaborate with senior management to define IT budgets, resource allocation, and investment priorities.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
• Provide clear and concise updates on IT projects, infrastructure improvements, and operational activities to stakeholders and senior management.
• Assess the feasibility and benefits of migrating additional IT systems and applications to the cloud, including Microsoft Office 365 and other cloud-based solutions.
• Lead technology refresh initiatives, including hardware and software upgrades, to ensure the infrastructure remains up-to-date and supports business growth.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting professional growth and development among team members.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary controls.

• Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to execute seamless cloud migrations while minimizing disruptions to operations.
• Strategy and Planning:
• Evaluate vendor proposals and select appropriate vendors for IT projects and services.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of the IT infrastructure across multiple locations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business needs and ensure the IT infrastructure aligns with operational requirements.
• Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing service level agreements.
• IT Infrastructure Management and Improvement:
• Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard company data and systems.
• Implement measures to mitigate risks and ensure uninterrupted operations in the event of a system failure or other emergencies.
• Evaluate the current IT infrastructure and identify areas for improvement, optimization, and cost-efficiency.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory requirements related to IT security and compliance.
• Establish backup and recovery procedures, conduct regular testing, and ensure that critical systems and data are protected and recoverable.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Vendor Management
• Build and manage a skilled and motivated IT support team, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Generate regular reports on system performance, uptime, and security metrics for management review.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring the team operates effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications And Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, legacy ERP systems, and Microsoft Finance and Operations (D365).
• Experience in building and managing high-performing IT support teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field would be an asset. Or proven experience (8+ years) in IT leadership roles, preferably in a multi-location manufacturing environment.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver multiple initiatives on time and within budget.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
