About The Job

The Director of Aluminum Marketing will lead a team that develops, owns, & provides world class market analysis and critical insights to inform strategic and tactical decision-making w.r.t Alcoa’s aluminum products in close partnership with the Aluminum Sales team. As a member of the global Marketing Lead Team, this professional will have global accountability for marketing of Alcoa’s value-added aluminum products as well as advising on market views for overall global primary aluminum.

Major activities

• Advise on projects led by strategy, business development, or other teams such as Government Affairs on aluminum issues. Responsible for analyzing potential impacts of policies on aluminum (e.g., Section 232 in the US) with regards to the industry and Alcoa and making recommendations for Alcoa's company view and position.
• Develop strong and trusted relationships with the Aluminum Sales and Supply Chain teams.
• Manage global team of 2-3 direct reports to deliver market views and recommended strategy.
• Collaborate closely and manage relationships with internal clients to understand and inform short-term and long-term business objectives.
• Collaborate with Strategy and Operations on strategic growth projects in aluminum, including across Alcoa cast houses.
• Lead development of global market views for advisory on go-to-market strategy, including but not limited to pricing recommendations, contractual terms, etc., for all of Alcoa value-added aluminum products.
• Lead commercialization of existing Sustana products and contribute (in partnership with Commercial Sustainability) on development and marketing of current and future green products.

Qualifications & Experience

• Leadership experience in market intelligence, market research, consulting, and/or strategy
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Experience leading global projects and teams.
• Deep knowledge of quantitative as well as qualitative research approaches. Strong understanding of compilation, trending, and analysis of market intelligence and/or performance data.
• Strategic thinker, flexible problem solver, great listener, and team player
• Ability to effectively communicate complex, detailed customer insights/data in a straightforward, consistent, and actionable way to Alcoa leadership.
• Able to effectively communicate a vision and inspire others to innovate.
• Minimum 7 years in the metals industry and minimum 4 years leading market analysis functions preferred.
• Experience in developing go to market strategies.
