Job Title: DevOps Engineer
About the Job:
Our client is the market leader in developing and deploying digital technology solutions in the air traffic management and airport industries, with a focus on major hub airports with large infrastructure programs and high-intensity runway operation airports.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the development team and management to define key infrastructure solution requirements and specifications.
• Ensure that the development teams have access to the right tools for the job! Introduce new technologies and tooling that helps developers automate tasks, releases, deployment, and more.
• Install, configure and test automated pipelines, AWS infrastructure, and more.
• Maintain, manage and configure the GitLab repositories.
• Maintain, manage and configure the AWS infrastructure (testbeds, ECR, IAM policies, etc).
• Establish AWS infrastructure design patterns.
• Participate in application testing for security performance, resiliency and availability.
• Train and run workshops on new infrastructure to keep development teams informed.
Experience:
• Computer science, engineering degree and/or technical background delivering computer- based solutions, a background in IT, or computer systems engineering.
• 2+ years of professional experience in a DevOps role or similar.
• Extensive Linux experience. Preferably RHEL and Ubuntu.
• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab pipelines.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git, SVN, etc.
• Familiarity with Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, etc.
• Reasonable experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to learn new technologies and multitask with attention to detail.
• An understanding of software development life cycle.
• Solid understanding of networking including protocol (TCP, UDP), routing, overlays as well as firewalls.
• Familiarity with Agile development process and Jira.
Desired Qualification:
• Experience with microservice architecture and coding practices.
• Software development experience, preferably using C++, Node.JS, React or Python.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with SQL and noSQL databases.
