Our Data Business Analysts are responsible for working with business leaders and data consumers to identify reporting and analytical requirements, independently developing business requirement documents as well as technical/functional specifications, and can also be called on to develop Power BI reports and dashboards to meet these requirements. This role also offers the opportunity to act as a product owner and manage the roadmap for the corporate services data domain.

You’ll Have The Opportunity To

• Collaborate with the development team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet customer needs.
• Use knowledge of the specific data products available and visualization capabilities to enhance requirements and provide insightful suggestions to business stakeholders.
• Communicate product updates and progress to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Prioritize features and user stories based on business units and stakeholder feedback, business value, and other factors.
• Translate conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers, and project and analytics teams.
• Design, build, deliver and maintain world-class reporting for all areas of the business using Power BI.
• Create and maintain a product backlog that aligns with the department’s strategic objectives.
• Participate in business and executive meetings to gather requirements and make recommendations around reporting/BI solutions.
• Develop a deep understanding of the various business processes, data sets and BI deliverables.
• Assist in the daily support of end-users’ ability to utilize the reporting platform effectively and efficiently.
• Prioritize work with the team and ensure there is a forward-looking roadmap for features to be delivered on the data products their domain team is tasked with.
• Define, prioritize, and manage the product roadmap in close collaboration with business units and stakeholders.

THIS ROLE IS A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

• Experience building reports in PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, BOBJ, MSTR or similar platforms.
• Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, modelling, verification, and methodology development.
• Experience in agile methodology and backlog management would be an asset.
• Working experience with SAP Finance modules would be an asset.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Working experience in writing SQL queries.
• Working knowledge of BI and data warehouse concepts and terminology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PPT, and Excel.
• Self-motivated and able to work in an open team environment with a collaborative, continuous improvement, and innovation mindset.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Computer Science, Business Administration, or another related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to connect the dots and tell stories using data.
• A detail-oriented person who is passionate about quality and enthusiastic about new technology.
• Capable of prioritizing multiple projects while achieving deadlines.
