The role we are offering you:

The Business Data Analyst is a role within the Strategic Projects, Process & Compliance team that forms part of the Global Strategic Sourcing organisation. This team is responsible to bring function-wide and company-wide improvements that help drive CAE's vision of a high-tech business. The Business Data Analyst role is focused on data management, data governance and data exploitation. This person will look to identify data opportunities within the business and functions and deliver operational changes to drive higher outcomes from CAE's global data. Are you ready to:

• Liaise with business units and functions to define data quality measures, increase data literacy, and improve data management, which will drive improvements within our core systems and introduce an enterprise-focused approach across the business and systems
• Driving the data cleansing activities globally
• Act as the liaison between the Procurement function, Data management technical team, the global business or other functions
• Identifying key improvements for Master Data Management
• Evolve into a more strategic role that looks at leveraging external data to enrich CAE's data-driven decision-making.
• Use data management process and methodology to understand a possible data product requirement from the business or function and help the business case creation
• Develop new and refine existing data standards, policies and procedures by working closely with the data management technical team, the business, functions and data owners/stewards to develop and implement best practices policies and guidance across the company’s key systems and data sources
• Manage requirements gathering and capture sessions to capture and prioritize business and end user needs related to data and analytics

Our ideal candidate has:

• Soft skills: analytical reasoning, creative and curious, can explain simply and clearly complex technical concepts
• Experience: 2/3 years experience as a data analyst, specifically in database management, statistical analysis, reports production and presentation
• Studied in one of the following specialist career paths: Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Analytics
• Experience / Industry: procurement and supply chain experience preferred with experience in a manufacturing environment or in a high-tech industry. Knowledge of emerging technologies as in the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to enrich data, and preference for an individual who has had experience working with these technologies.
