Co-op/Intern Software Engineer, Data Ingestion
Job location: Ottawa, Canada; Remote, Canada
Term Length: 8 or 12 months starting September 2023
About The Team
We are a full stack application development team, developing application in Retail domain and unified platform for AI/ML and Data engineering in close collaboration with Machine learning and Data engineering teams.
We own from initial solution design all the way through to deployment to production. We are highly skilled engineering team who are not afraid to tackle hard Application problems in Retail domain.
What you will do

• Onboard developed solution onto cloud in development, QA or Production environment
• Help develop full stack application for Retail domain or Unified AI/ML + Data platform
• You will gain tremendous leaning experience from working with Software Engineers, Technical Product Managers, Analytics Experts, Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers
• You’ll deliver an end-to-end solution that solves a real-world business problem
• May perform other projects as assigned
• You’ll get to apply your software knowledge, skill and gain mastery
• You will be exposed to Data Engineering, Machine learning and Cloud technologies

What we are looking for

• Knowledge/experience in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms
• Demonstrated proficiency with any common programming language: Java, JavaScript/React, C#
• Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn in fast paced environment
• Experience in relational database (Postgres, Oracle, MySQL)
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts
• Detail oriented and strong analytical skills

Things that would definitely help

• Some exposure to dev-ops concepts with containerization (e.g: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
• Experience building full stack application
