Robert Half is searching for an ambitious Controller to join a reputable Machinery Manufacturing company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide accounting staff. The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the Nisku, Alberta region.
What you get to do every single day

• Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
• Work closely with the executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
• Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
• Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, and controls
• Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
• Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
• Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
• Provide executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

Requirements

• Knowledge of cost analysis
• CPA designation is required
• Solid understanding of manufacturing
• Financial reporting experience in accordance with IFRS
• Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
