Responsibilities

  • Apply business analyst requirements skills to lead workshops to gather business input by which to provide a base for client participants to clearly understand the approach to interpreting their asset information and in turn work with them to define extraction, transformation and migration rules that will be applied to such information
  • Support the technical Extract/Transform/Load and Data Analyst team members who codify the rules:
  • Review of and provision of feedback on project team deliverables
  • Elicit requirements from stakeholders using a variety of techniques: e.g., workshops, interviews, documentation analysis, surveys, site visits, etc

  • Contribution to the definition of test strategies and plans
  • Create client and leader presentations, facilitate workshops, providing asset information domain expertise and act as a liaison with business unit stakeholders.
  • Communication of proposed solutions to internal and external stakeholders
  • Critically evaluate the complex revision and version information pertaining to controlled asset records (P&IDs, Datasheets, Line Designation Tables, Schedules, Vendor Records, etc.) to identify issues with the record document detail, the related revision detail and the supporting version information
  • Critically evaluate information gathered, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the actual underlying needs
  • Contribution to the code review process
  • Completion of key requirements and deliverables
  • Validation of content enrichment rules with key stakeholders
  • Understand and develop the means to focus on both project level records and the publication of such records to the plant operations vault
  • Use standard business analyst skills including process model development, workflow, swim-lane and agile workshop processes with which to undertake engagements
  • Establish a comprehensive framework to guide extraction, transformation and migration of all such information

Requirements

  • Engineering information management processes
  • Direct domain experience in Engineering Document Management or Engineering Information Systems for Owner / Operators or EPC’s, including:
  • Ability to deal with complex interaction sessions where participant inputs can be negative or otherwise challenging to deal with, to see the overall workshop objectives are consistently achieved

  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Engineering information standards (e.g., tag and document classification, tag and document metadata, tag and document states)
  • Understanding of the engineering information lifecycle and how this supports Engineering, Construction, CS&U, Operations, Maintenance & Reliability, etc
  • Experience with multiple project delivery methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
  • Experience in requirements analysis and business analyst work
  • Excellent skills in transforming complex data-driven information into presentations and products that can be effectively understood by and used by client staff
