Job Description
ReVisionz, a leader in asset & process safety information management, is seeking experienced Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) Migration Techs to join our team. Your role involves utilizing ETL solutions to enhance data quality and facilitate the transition to new target solutions. This position requires technical programming expertise, collaborating closely with content analysts and business partners. Your responsibilities will encompass refining ETL tools to ensure efficient execution of operations on source information, enabling effective actions to be taken.   • Jointly participate with Content Analysts/ Consultants and business owners of information to define rules that can be codified into the ETL solution by which extracted information can be properly acted on for transformation and migration
  • Measure ETL performance and prepare business acceptance criteria
  • Support the Content Analyst team with their interaction with the business participants where pertinent to see migration issues are addressed
  • Create exception reports and liaise with the Content Analysts
  • Review reports on migration status to understand where specific content has migration issues and based on good understanding of the migration processes and rules, discern the nature of the issues involved and actions necessary
  • Code the rules in the ETL solutions in order to have the source content updated to meet destination load requirements
  • Conduct quality checks on the transformed and migrated information into the target environments.
  • Gain knowledge in client’s source system processes and functions as a basis to support rules coding and migration issues management
  • Liaise with the source and destination software teams for migration processing where issues may involve the destination applications not processing what the ETL process sends for loading
  • Configure ETL solutions to ensure that migration and enrichment proceeds effectively, and to identify information expeditiously that does not comply to the rules and blocks migration
  • Manipulate large volume complex information to discern content issues vis a vis the destination software requirements and identify formal coding that can be applied in the ETL solution to address issues
  • Work closely with the Content Extraction Consultant, or on smaller engagements where such a specialized Extraction Consultant is not in place the Content Analyst team, to see that the rule-based specialized extraction of data sets from source SQL/Oracle databases is achieved
  • Track content migration and loading progress


Requirements


  • Extensive skills in the use of SQL for query, reporting and analysis
  • Oracle and SQL database background
  • Strong analytical ability and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in collection, analysis, sorting, organizing, classifying, validating and uploading large quantities of engineering records
  • Track record in effectively being able to understand issues and work them to resolution across multiple parties – key is full migration success which demands effective decision making capabilities to understand and resolve issues
  • Experience in management of engineering information pertaining to tags, engineering documents and data, physical equipment and project turnover
  • Engineering projects/engineering information management
  • Skills with the specified source and target systems will be a component of this role and will vary per each engagement – e.g., OpenText/Documentum/fileshare ECM/files solutions, SAP/Maximo CMMS, Hexagon/Bentley/AVEVA data management solutions, etc
  • Experience in coding rules based ETL solutions with which to conduct the extraction, transformation and migration of information
  • Background in documenting existing systems functions (flow charts on how transactions flow, details on transaction processes, etc.), in regard to ETL solutions
  • Strong background in SSIS, C++ and .NET coding to facilitate configuration of the ETL tools by which business rules will transform the content to be migrated
  • Self-managed by objective with minimum supervision
  • Bachelors in computer science or College specialization in coding
