We are seeking a Construction Supervisor to join our client's team in Winnipeg, MB.
The successful candidate will be directly responsible for monitoring and supervising residential and commercial construction projects to successful completion with the sub trades and the construction team. Your success is defined by proactive management of project activities, sustaining positive subtrade and client relationships, and delivering projects on-time and within budget.
The ideal candidate must have experience managing construction of multi-family residential apartments, and proven prior experience in a skills trade area like carpentry.

What you bring
- Experience in managing multi-family residential projects.
- Knowledge of interpreting, coordinating, and analyzing blueprints and shop drawings for discrepancies.
- Familiarity with the use of construction software preferably Procore, and other office tools like Microsoft Office, specifically Projects and Outlook.
- Good understanding of local building code requirements.
- Minimum of five years’ construction supervisor/superintendent level experience building multi-family and multi-level commercial projects.
- Experience in reviewing and coordinating subcontracts with tender documents.
- Experience working as a skills trade person, and with a post-secondary education in construction management.
What you do
- Control project costs by initiating purchase orders, reviewing all invoices to confirm actual costs align to estimates, and the work is satisfactorily completed.
- Review project drawings and contract documents to proactively identify errors, omissions, and discrepancies.
- Coordinate trade activities on-site to ensure work is complete and concerns are addressed and resolved quickly.
- Schedule, review, approve and co-ordinate all shop drawings to ensure accurate information is transferred to trades.
- Review all work in progress to ensure accuracy, quality, and on-schedule. Document activities and escalate concerns to all required stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation in construction management software such as meeting minutes, concerns addressed, cost controls, and concerns with scheduling or quality.
- Assist and support project handover to client by coordinating move-in requirements and providing orientation.
- Prepare project schedules with input from all trades, arrange and coordinate all project requirements from permits and approvals to materials and labor.
- Manage the process of change orders based on requests from clients or principals, with proper documentation and coordination of trades and subcontractors.
- Monitor jobsite safety and address non-compliance. Lead safety orientation sessions, distribute PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required, and answer workers questions about safety topics.
