: Computer Network Technician (AV over IP/WIFI Systems)

Our company, a leading technology solutions provider based in

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, is seeking a skilled and motivated Computer

Network Technician to join our dynamic team. This position will

primarily focus on AV over IP network systems and WIFI systems,

including brands such as Aruba, Cisco, and Unifi. Additionally, this

role offers avenues for growth and the opportunity to become an Audio

Visual (AV) programmer for leading systems such as Crestron, AMX, and

Extron.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain AV over IP network systems and WIFI

systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and

troubleshoot complex network infrastructures for AV over IP and WIFI

systems.

• Conduct network assessments and provide recommendations for

improvements, upgrades, and enhancements to meet evolving business

needs.

• Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including monitoring

system performance, identifying and resolving network issues, and

optimizing network efficiency.

• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to

ensure successful implementation of network projects.

• Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting

procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.

• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best

practices related to AV over IP network systems, WIFI systems, and AV

programming.

• Provide technical support and training to end-users as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a

related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting AV over

IP network systems and WIFI systems, with expertise in brands such as

Aruba, Cisco, and Unifi.

• Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching,

VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, and DNS.

• Familiarity with AV programming concepts and systems such as

Crestron, AMX, and Extron is a plus.

• Proficient in network troubleshooting methodologies and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to

identify and resolve complex network issues.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate

effectively with team members and stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in AV programming or working with AV systems.
• Knowledge of video codecs, streaming protocols, and audiovisual
