Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations Services, the Compliance Lead is responsible for performing audits and conducting work related to all aspects of compliance related to the project scope.
This position is based in Toronto, ON.
Responsibilities

• Design recommendations that are pragmatic but still mitigate the existing risks.
• Reporting and discussing results of internal audits with operational management.
• Identify opportunities to improve the internal controls for the project and assist management to develop an action plan to reduce the number of deficiencies.
• Following up on issues from previous internal audits, determining the status of recommendations, reporting as such and reassessing risk as necessary.
• Thorough knowledge of company policy and its application so as to discern if operations are not in compliance.
• Analyzing and reporting the results of the assessment of design and operational effectiveness for the project.
• Identify opportunities to improve the internal controls and assist management to develop an action plan to reduce the number of deficiencies.
• Mentor and guide staff, offering support and coaching.
• Train staff in the analysis required to identify risks and develop or identify internal controls to mitigate the risks.
• Assist in conducting risk assessments to develop an audit plan related to the project scope.

What We Are Looking For

• Analytical thinker who confidently and accurately evaluates complex business and accounting issues
• Ability to work collaboratively with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
• Experience in reporting to management the findings related to audit work that has been conducted
• Experience in conducting an audit from planning to reporting stages
• Superior written and verbal communication skills including the ability to converse with technical professionals as well as operations end users
• A diplomatic and effective negotiator who works towards win-win solutions on all matters
• 3-5 years of experience ideally suited, including demonstrated record of growth and responsibility in auditing
• An Accounting degree and Designation or relevant combination of education and experience
• A confident, innovative financial professional with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong orientation to customer service
