About The Job


The Communications Coordinator/Graphic Designer is responsible for designing engaging and meaningful digital and non-digital assets to support the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the organization.


At CMHA BC we walk alongside workplaces with the help of our strong partners to provide best practices and real-time strategies to support healthy workplace cultures for all. Currently, we are looking for a Communications Coordinator/Graphic Designer to support workplace mental health programs include BC Hub Workplace for Mental Health, Care for Caregivers, and Workplace Mental Health Education & Training Services.


Duties And Responsibilities


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Liaise with program leads to create and/or execute communication plans upholding brand guidelines, objectives, key messages, and budget.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement, review analytics, and create reports on key performance indicators.
  • Be a valued member and liaison between communication and the WPMH team, providing coordination and administrative support for the Workplace Mental Health program where needed.
  • Establish and maintain files and documentation.
  • Develop fee-for-service quotes and proposals. Liaise with stakeholders and work with project leads to implement a creative and engaging vision within organization guidelines.
  • Create compelling, interesting, and relevant content to build brand awareness and increase engagement.
  • Provide graphic design, print production, writing and promotional services for events and programs for other departments or agencies on a fee-for-service basis.
  • Develop, update, maintain, and evaluate digital and print assets, including website, e-newsletters, projects, and program collateral.
  • Research and publish content for print, web, digital, and internal communications while adhering to CMHA style guide and governance standards.
  • Lead the implementation of the Workplace Mental Health Publications (digital and print) including coordinating, editing, and reviewing content, graphic design, and printing.
  • Perform communication project management duties as needed to implement integrated communications plans and support communications for external programs, projects partnerships, and internal initiatives as assigned.


About You


Education & Experience:


  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant graphic design and print production experience.
  • Minimum 2 years project management/coordination experience, with a commitment to high standards of quality.
  • At least 2 years post-secondary training in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining effective relationships and partnership with internal and external stakeholders


Knowledge & Skills:


  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing and promotion, branding and public relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively, and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to the work, personal experience with mental health challenges and services, through self or loved ones, is an asset in this role.
  • Solid design and conceptual skills with an awareness of current and future engagement/marketing trends.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and innovation to solve problems.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective graphic design.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
  • Knowledge of mental health landscape and/or workplace mental health in BC is considered an asset.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, demands and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of specialized and personal computer systems, Internet, and software applications, particularly Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook), and website content management systems.
  • Website maintenance, and strong copy editing and plain language writing skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS


  • This is a 1.0 FTE position located in Vancouver or Victoria. The usual work week is 37.5 hrs. Most work is accomplished during the usual 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours, although the candidate will need to maintain some flexible scheduling during weekends and evenings.
  • The Communications Coordinator/Graphic Designer is a unionized role with the Health Services and Support – Community Subsector Association of Bargaining Agents. The role is at Grid 38 benchmark with an hourly rate of $33.00.
  • A combination of working from home and working from the office is required.
