THE CANDIDATE

We are looking for a full-time motivated team player in our Design and Marketing Department. The ideal candidate must have a strong sense of aesthetics and ability to work within a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines. The successful candidate can earn a place in our rapidly growing team balancing personal goals with those of the broader organization.

THE ROLE

This role is responsible for leading the brand portfolio by building the strategic direction, develop communication to consumers and lighting professionals. This individual must be able to partner and guide executional teams (internal & external), manage conflicting priorities, understand the bigger picture, and can deal with ambiguity. This position needs to balance creative/communication skills with critical thinking, project management and performance measurement.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

MANAGEMENT

  • Mentor and grow juniors to develop skills to support your function and eventually take on more responsibilities.
  • Manage multiple priorities and see the patterns and big picture in relationships and processes.
  • Supervise and manage office and production staff.
  • Build a collaborative, positive cross functional team environment and strong working relationships with seniors, associates and outside agencies.
  • Provide a strong and positive leadership communicating the big picture understanding.
  • Proactively seek feedback and opportunities to learn and improve.
  • Balance uncertainties and trade-offs to achieve desired business results in a timely manner
  • Constantly look for opportunities for improvements in work processes and be proactive in working with others to reach an improved outcome.
  • Superb verbal and written communication; with a strong ability to communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.

PRODUCT – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Determine customers' needs and recommend future product lines generating product requirements; determine specifications, packaging design, and its content, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction.
  • Support campaign themes by helping to craft compelling content—including infographics, white papers, eBooks, case studies, blog posts and webinars, —that helps engage and inspire at every stage in the customer journey.
  • Support management in development of new products and services.
  • Be an expert on our competition, how they are positioned, and how we win against them.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

  • Create new and maintain existing assets in all media types.
  • Convert drawing/images to video when needed.
  • Create wiring/power guides, installation guides for projects.
  • Edit images taken of products and installation projects.
  • Digital Filing: keep server organized, consistent, descriptive and uncluttered.
  • Create and edit visual elements for online and print.
  • Developmental planning i.e. sample cases, demo boards, new products.
  • Prepare images/drawings for presentations.
  • Edit/format videos and other visuals.
  • Create and update product vector images and drawings.
  • Design product boards, tradeshow, sample displays and sales kits.
  • Design/create brochures, catalogues, visuals.
  • Create technical drawings of concepts illustrated in 2D and 3D..
  • Refresh and update brand image.
  • Create all necessary guides in accordance with new brand guideline.
  • Photography: take product and project photographs.

Website

  • Work with new website development company to create layout and design for new website and provide necessary collateral.
  • Coordinate execution and integration of Business central API.
  • Supervise, upload, andmaintain all written and visual content to website.
  • Oversee full execution of website from design to launch.
  • Maintain website health and updates as required.
  • Produce all visual and written content for website.

Marketing

  • Observe website rankings through Google Analytics/other tracking apps.
  • Work with consulting services and staff to develop marketing strategy.
  • Design and produce sales sample cases, sales kits and trade show both with sales collateral.
  • Translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing team, cross functional teams and external agency partners to ensure seamless, executional excellence of plans and programs.
  • Make recommendations and follow through with strategies.
  • Collaborate to produce high-quality content for all areas.
  • Develop and maintain organic SEO tactics for website.
  • Design and supervise construction of showroom.
  • Produce all visual and written content for print and online platforms and sales kits.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Microsoft Office & Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom etc.
  • A degree or diploma preferably in visual arts, marketing, communications.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and asset – ability to learn quickly.
  • Proficient command of software and/or free hand illustration.
  • Knowledge of “pen tool” is a must.
  • Experience in 3D Modelling, Rendering, CAD, Video Editing, Revit etc. required.
  • Ability to draw/sketch out ideas and concepts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comfortable with a variety of graphic styles of print and web.
  • Able to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and work well with deadlines.
  • Strong relationship builder and comfortable working independently/team.
  • Interest and awareness of graphics trends, best practices and business applications.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Easily transition from corporate design to creative.
  • Highly organized with strong administrative skills and attention to detail.

ADVANTAGES:
