The Senior Graphic Designer will sit within the in-house creative team. The Senior Graphic Designer is in charge of executing creative brand projects from ideation to completion, with a focus on developing new brand identities and the 110th Grey Cup to start. The ideal candidate should have strong conceptual skills and understanding of layout, typography, and color theory. Some projects are print-based and require knowledge of print design and production.
The position requires frequent interaction with other functional departments and stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Events, Partnerships, etc.). Candidate should have strong communication and management skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
·5+ years of experience in print production and digital design
·Experience in senior level design; creating mood board or storyboards, providing comments on proofs, steering the execution of a design project
·Logo creation and development
·Ability to work with illustrators and photographers and large-scale printers
·Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
·Develop concepts around key brand and fan touchpoints (e.g. digital campaigns, The Grey Cup + other league-run events)
·Design and refine various marketing materials including signage, style guides, brochures, print ads, digital ads, social media graphics, creative toolkits, and presentations
·Layout of a wide range of visual assets, from single-page ads to large environmental and directional signage
·Design and get into production print graphics, as well as environmental signage and large-scale pageantry
·Strong knowledge and understanding of design concepts and techniques, as well as brand systems
·Strong knowledge of typography and layout
·Photo/retouching skills
·Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
·Ability to make simple motion GIFS for social
·Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint
·Meticulous production skills and attention to detail
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience):
·5+ years of experience in print production and digital design
·Degree/Certificate in Graphic Design or equivalent
·Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
·Superior organization, time management skills and attention to detail
·Strong interpersonal skills: effective communicator, both written and verbal
·Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
·High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance.
·Ability to receive feedback with a positive attitude and follow creative direction
·Sports fan/knowledge is an asset
·Motion-graphics experience is a bonus

Other Considerations:
·Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends based on business needs.
·For Grey Cup, must be able to travel during the month of November and stay in the host city.
·May be required to travel during the season to select CFL cities for other CFL events.
Location
·CFL League Office is in Toronto. Candidates must be willing to work in the office 2 days/week. They must also be able to attend meetings or other business events at the league office or other venue as business needs dictate.Proof of vaccination is a condition of employment.
