Job Description
Position Summary


Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Rainbow Facility.


In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Northern Health patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at NH, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. The Clinical Resource Nurse provides leadership in the delivery of care activities in defined areas of clinical expertise. Supervises and provides work direction to staff. Provides input to Program Manager or designate regarding staffing coverage and provides clinical leadership, guidance and support to team members. Acts as a clinical resource for nurses, nursing students and the interdisciplinary team. Assists staff in providing quality care and related quality assurance requirements for an identified patient population by providing information based on theory/practice, assessing clinical/technical skills and participating in the direct patient care as appropriate, in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.


Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 06:45 to 14:45


Rainbow Lodge houses 18 residents in single occupancy rooms, each with its own washroom. There is a common dining and lounge area and a fenced outdoor patio complete with gardens. Recreation Therapy is provided on site, and provides activities such as hymn-sing, school visits with the elderly, choral groups.


Prince George has a population of 89,490 (2021) local residents and is a service centre for approximately 320,000. Qualfications


  • Baccalaureate in Nursing, plus 5 (five) years recent clinical experience in a related program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • CPR level C and/or Code Management.
  • Advanced preparation and/or certification in the Clinical Specialty area as needed.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

  • Assessment & Intervention: Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) and provide nursing care through appropriate / prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions.
  • Teaching: Ability to transmit information intended to instruct clients and others about topics essential to health care and well-being.
  • Knowledge Integration: Using factual information, prior learning and basic principles and procedures to support decisions and actions with relevant research based evidence. Integrates best practice from nursing and other health-related disciplines and the humanities, arts and sciences disciplines into professional practice.
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the clients, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team using oral, written and computer communication means.
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including proven ability to utilize computer technology.
  • Management: Manages time and resources, implementing activities to promote cooperation among relevant others, supervising responsibilities of others, collaboration across disciplines and related activities.
  • Leadership: Promotes staff morale, cooperation, assertiveness and risk-taking, creative planning for change and innovations, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others.
