Job Description
GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Civil Technician to join our Team. GEMTEC management understands that creative, talented employees are assets, and that investing in employee development is an investment in our firm. We currently have openings for Civil Technicians/ Students in our Petawawa, ON office.


Responsibilities


The successful candidate will have the following:


  • Other duties as required.
  • Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Various office, laboratory, and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering.
  • Laboratory testing of aggregates, soil, concrete, and asphalt.


Qualifications


  • Experience with materials testing and inspection is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with computer assisted drafting (CAD) and surveying is considered an asset.
  • College Level Diploma, or currently enrolled is considered an asset.


Other


  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Contract position (4-months)
  • Providing proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 may be a condition of employment. Exceptions to this requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis in relation to local health guidelines and/or client requirements/regulations.
