Students come to Lighthouse Labs as an accelerated pathway to successful employment. This has led to Career Services and employment being a core part of what we do - helping students get a job isn't a nice to have, it is a necessity. We pride ourselves on our hands on and proactive approach to our students’ job hunt and are fiercely proud that 95% of our job seeking graduates get jobs in 180 days.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting job seekers through their job hunt and has exceptional people and multitasking skills. You’ll be responsible for coordinating and executing our Career Services delivered programming as well as working directly with job seekers as they go through the ups and downs of their job search. You have a proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and have a ‘no job too big or too small’ attitude. You are super interested in tech and education and are excited by what we are doing! You possess great judgement and emotional intelligence, and are able to balance being a cheerleader with having tough conversations.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist our team in additional initiatives and projects
- Check in with our job seekers while on the job hunt and be responsible for ensuring our ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is up to date with student’s information.
- Various email, scheduling and follow up related tasks.
- Be ready, willing and enthused to provide career support 1:1 or in a group to students, job seekers, and alumni
- Initiate and participate in various projects to support our job seekers even better as we’re a rapidly growing department and company
- Coordinate the delivery of our Career Services programming, including presenting various established workshops (resumes, interviewing, job seeking etc)
What we need from you:
- A genuine interest in people with a passion to help them succeed
- Data entry experience (CRM/ATS experience an asset)
- Tech and Software Savvy - experience with the G Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar etc.), Slack, Discord highly preferred
- Comfortable being Uncomfortable
- Ability to have tough conversations and re-set missed expectations
- 1-2 years experience in a relevant area such as career counseling or facilitations - direct experience working and supporting people
- Comfortable delivering presentations and workshop (20-50 ppl)
- Strong task and time management skills
