Full-time, Permanent

$22.00/ hour, Monday-Friday

Position Overview:

The Career Information Centre, part of Diversified Employment Solutions, is funded by WorkingNB and is currently looking for a Full-TimeCareer Information Centre Agentto work out of our Dieppe, NB location. The CIC offers job search and training resources and access to information on the local labour markets, job postings, websites, and government programs to provide job seekers with the tools they need to succeed in competitive employment markets.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will be comfortable serving diverse client groups with various skill levels, being patient and attentive to the client’s needs. You are positive, enthusiastic, and open to learning new things. You thrive in helping others to succeed and enjoy moderate to fast-paced work, showing initiative and filling your downtime with meaningful project work.


In addition, the following competencies will set you apart from other candidates:

· Diplomacy, confidentiality, and professionalism

· Demonstrated excellence in customer service

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and experienced with job search engines (Indeed, Job Bank, Career Beacon, LinkedIn, and more)

· Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail

· 1-2 years of professional or academic writing experience is a definite asset

· Willingness to learn the craft of basic résumé and cover letter creation

· Reliable with a sense of urgency

· A valid class 5 Driver’s License and openness to commute upon need

· Must possess the ability to work autonomously

· Responds well to change and new initiatives

· Respectful of diversity and inclusion practices

· Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French languages

· Must be able to pass a criminal record check


Education:

· Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences or Education or Counselling and one year of counseling related work experience OR

· Post-secondary Diploma/Certificate in related disciplines of Social Science, Education or Counselling and two-three years of related experience

· Other equivalent education and/or work experience may be considered
