Job Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Services Advisor to join our Activation Services department. The Services Advisor will work in partnership with the Applied Sales and Services Delivery teams to identify and pursue client-specific service opportunities and promote the use and expansion of services within the Applied customer base. Additionally, the Services Advisor will develop the overall scope and estimate of the services offered for various engagements such as implementation projects, optimization engagements, ad-hoc consulting, integration and custom solution development, and other business development opportunities as identified.
Using the mix of business acumen, insurance industry credibility, and knowledge of Applied service offerings, the Services Advisor will be relied upon to provide service coordination excellence and overall customer experience satisfaction. Applied provides a hybrid work experience for those who are located near an Applied hub. This role has the potential for being remote as well throughout the US or Canada.
Some travel is required | Preference for the ability to work PST hours.
What You’ll Do
  • Conduct services discoveries of clients’ business objectives and align technology solutions to the desired business outcomes
  • Drive overall services revenue results for assigned sales territories
  • Partner with Corporate and Primary Sales in developing the services program to achieve an overall positive customer experience
  • Achieve a high level of client satisfaction by providing customers with creative, compelling, and impactful solutions to address their business priorities
  • Develop and deliver statements of work, as required or warranted, corresponding with clients’ business requirements and Applied’s services capabilities
  • Develop strategies to educate and generate awareness of various service offerings
  • Collaborate regularly with Sales Management to determine opportunities for additional services to both new and existing customers
What You’ll Need To Succeed
We’re looking for someone who:
  • *Preference for ability to work PST hours.
  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office. The potential for working in multiple time zones requires work schedule flexibility.
Your experience should include some or all of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferably in the insurance industry
  • Solution-oriented and ability to drive conversations with clients
  • We proudly support and encourage people with military experience, as well as military spouses, to apply
  • Negotiation and selling skills
  • Exceptional speaking, facilitation, and presentation skills; outstanding technical writing skills
  • 8+ years of experience in the insurance and/or technology industry, ideally in a sales capacity or strong client-facing roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to scope work, identify opportunities, and assist in the "selling" of services engagements
Additionally, you may have:
  • Insurance industry certifications desired (INS, CPCU, CIC, CRM, CIP etc.)
  • Available for 10-20% travel and may require travel across North America
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office –Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Well-developed organizational skills, such as the ability to synthesize business issues quickly and identify where/how product functionality can be used and/or overall use improved
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales quotas or similar
  • ERP system experience such as Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, etc. a plus
  • Significant exposure to insurance automation technology (Applied products ideal, but open to similar competitor, and/or proprietary technology exposure)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently
  • Technology industry experience in a sales or solutioning capacity
