About The Opportunity
Reporting to the SDS/PACU Health Services Manager and working under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals, the Care Team Assistant (CTA) provides direct, hands-on care based on the needs of the patient and pre-operative/PACU care areas. As a member of the collaborative care team, the CTA is responsible for supporting patient care through (including, but not limited to):
  • Participates in discharge planning and assist with patient’s readiness for discharge
  • Collect health information as assigned to support patient care assessment; monitor patient’s general condition and well-being to help guide treatments by the collaborative care team
  • Assist with specimen collection, and preparing patient for surgical procedure (eg: pre-operative hair removal)
  • Reinforce patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care
  • Provide assistance with implementing health care plan or therapeutic treatment, such as record vital signs and intake/output readings and reporting results
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Continuing Care Assistant Program
  • Demonstrates effective listening skills.
  • Provincial Certification with Department of Health and Wellness

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
Where there are no applicants with provincial certification the employer may consider candidates who are eligible to write the CCA knowledge exam and obtain certification within 1 year from their date of hire.

Hours
  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives
$23.25 - $25.20 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
