Job Description

At STELIA North America, we are offering the opportunity for a career that is out of this world! We are looking for someone to join our Senior Leadership team in Lunenburg, NS. An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is a recognized leader in the design, analysis, and development of advanced composite structures for the aeronautic, defense and space markets. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 180,000 sq feet of facilities that are focused on composite, metal or hybrid sub-assemblies for major aeronautical players and innovating global solutions.


Role Description

Reporting to the CEO & Managing Director, this role is accountable for leading the strategic direction, growth and successful execution (meaning financial and customer / execution performance) of an identified business segment comprised of both new opportunities and current programs. This position serves as a STELIA Leadership team member, and is the most senior Program and Business Development leader for the business segment.


In this role, you will:

  • Ensure effective and timely internal and external program communications
  • Develop and execute the Business Segment strategy, aligned within the overall STELIA strategy.
  • Serve as lead negotiator for new contracts, contract changes, or specific issue resolution.
  • Act as program manager for 1-2 (often complex or early-phase) programs in portfolio.
  • Identify and drive hard to eliminate program risks and performance degradations.
  • Identify and capture new opportunities, strategy and bid / quote execution (supported by PMO).
  • Lead the business segment team, assuring action identification, planning and completion as determined through Program Reviews and other meetings.
  • Recommend and plan program segment improvement requirements and initiatives as well as direct program cost re-baselining and program remediation initiative
  • Be accountable for segment financial (orders, revenue, profit and cash) and customer delivery performance, and proactive operational and commercial coordination.
  • Lead the segment customer interfaces and relationships.
  • Be accountable for Business Segment revenue growth including in-year and Flight Plan (5y) sales.
  • Develop business / competitor intelligence.


You have:

  • Completed a post-secondary education in Business or an Engineering / Technical discipline.
  • Experience in negotiation and management of complex commercial requirements.
  • Proficiency in M365 applications is mandatory including on MS Project, experience with enterprise resource planning systems is an asset.
  • An ability to summarize issues concisely and communicate with all levels in the organization, influencing and fostering collaboration and across multiple functional areas.
  • Proficiency in both French and English languages considered an asset.
  • Advanced financial / analytical acumen
  • Senior Customer-facing experience is preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs/customers in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in Program or Project Management, or related customer-facing activity (planning, scheduling, business pursuit).
