Business Clerk Virtual Nursing Station

• Identifying and confirming Patient eligibility for monitoring with attending Physician and Registered Staff
• Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem solving skills
• Previous experience and expert skill in Sovera and CWS, PCI and OE applications of Meditech
• Prepare the shipping labels as required
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Registering patients in meditech and Cloud DX when new referrals are received
• Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and assist other in the completion of assigned tasks
• Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
• Ambassador of the virtual surgical transitions program and visiting patients & families in hospital to provide program information
• Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
• Tact and discretion dealing with patients and families
• Keyboarding 40 w.p.m.
• Managing project logs and data collection for program reporting
• Device management, which may include, but may not be limited to: labelling the devices, preparing the kits, tracking the location of the delivered and returned devices, clean the returned devices, wipe the data from the returned devices, and coordinate device delivery to enrolled patients
• Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent or equivalent office experience
• Knowledge and skill in using computer
• Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 which may be subject to testing
• Sending required intake and other forms to the Virtual Nursing Station
• Reporting to the Clinical Leaderof the Virtual Nursing Station
• Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
• Providing Patient with the device kit, Patient information package, Copy of signed Patient consent form, and shipping labels

Unit Summary
A one year sustainable operational remote patient monitoring RPM and virtual nursing program for surgical patients and a research project PVC-RAM-2 to continue to learn further regarding RPM programs.
The RPM program can be leveraged to support post-surgical patients through early discharges, decreased length of stay, providing required support within the community, empowering patients in their own care and providing an opportunity to buy additional bed capacity. With support from a dedicated team of 1 Clinical Leader, 1 business clerk, 6 RNs and 4 RPNs, existing technology and support from perioperative physicians, there is an opportunity to address the surgical backlog problem and to enhance patient continuity of care. Patients will be followed with 7, 15 and 30 day protocols based on their acuity and complexity.
Schedule Work Hours
Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
This position is temporary until June 30, 2023.
