WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
ACML is actively seeking a Building Operator Lead located in Toronto, ON whose main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Participate in review of operating policies/procedures as required.
  • Provide guidance/instruction to Building Operators and other classifications/trades.
  • Monitor work of contractors/external service providers to ensure adherence to company/industry standards.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks (chemical treatment maintenance, filter changes, belt replacement, lubrications, cleaning of utility rooms, maintenance of fire prevention systems, testing and inspecting equipment).
  • Conduct routine property and site inspections and perform maintenance as required.
  • Inspect, operate, maintain and repair boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, life safety system, etc.
  • Review and complete daily entries into engineer's log.
  • Work and enforce compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable codes.
  • Monitor electrical power distribution system and building automation system and respond to alarms expeditiously and methodically.
  • Ensure all equipment are operated in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable government codes and regulations.
  • Ensure maximum energy efficiency, inspect/operate/maintain and repair mechanical/electrical systems and equipment (including boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, life safety system, etc.).
WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
  • Proven ability to foster/develop/maintain relationships with internal/external contacts;
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Possesses personal leadership attributes including; integrity, trustworthiness, results focused, high standards, commitment, ethical values and achievement oriented;
  • Building Environmental Studies, Operating Engineer certification, Engineering Technologist, provincial trade certification of qualification, or related diploma/degree/certification;
  • Willingness to be available on-call.
  • 5-7 years of experience in facilities maintenance and operations;
  • Demonstrated capabilities re: accountability, judgement, decision-making, problem solving, etc.;
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with clients, tenants, management and staff;
