As they continue to expand, they are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Branch Manager to lead the operations and sales in Montreal.
Position Overview:
As the Branch Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Montreal operations. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the day-to-day logistics and freight forwarding activities, ensuring the efficient handling of cargo and shipments. With your strong background in the freight forwarding industry, you will lead and inspire a team of professionals to achieve operational excellence and deliver exceptional service to the clients.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of logistics professionals, fostering a positive work culture and ensuring a high level of performance.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, customs laws, and company policies, promoting a safe and compliant work environment.
- Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of freight forwarding operations, including but not limited to cargo handling, shipment tracking, customs clearance, and documentation management.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management, detailing branch performance, market trends, and potential challenges.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique logistics needs and providing tailored solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements, driving continuous improvement initiatives within the branch.
- Financial Performance: Monitor branch performance metrics, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement strategies to achieve financial targets and optimize profitability.
- Business Development: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities and expand our customer base in the Montreal region.
- Safety and Security: Uphold safety standards and security protocols, minimizing risks to personnel, cargo, and equipment.
Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Freight Forwarding Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of freight forwarding operations, customs regulations, and international shipping practices.
- Adaptability: Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and market conditions.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Location: The position is based on-site in Montreal. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Canada.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French language proficiency is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the freight forwarding industry, with a proven track record in logistics management and leadership roles.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on empowering and developing team members.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to problem-solving, capable of making informed decisions under pressure.
- Business Acumen: Solid understanding of logistics market trends, business development strategies, and financial management principles.
