About The Bookkeeper/Receptionist


The Bookkeeper/Receptionist is self motivated, and results driven who is adept at problem solving, decision making, establishing strong working relationships, and demonstrating excellent administrative and communication skills. Curious and motivated to make things better. Purposely presents a likeable personality and relaxed, calm demeanor.


The ideal individual has an aptitude for developing and maintaining good relationships with clients and staff. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of financial results, including key drivers, emerging trends, and anomalies to share with senior management to guide effective decision-making Using tools and business knowledge to continuously provide insightful information, reporting and analytics that evolve with changes in the business, including proactive thinking and analysis Reviewing, analyzing and monitoring business performance, synthesizing data, analyses Operating with a high degree of autonomy.


As The Bookkeeper/Receptionist You Will Be Responsible For


  • Accuracy and attention to detail in completing remittances to the bank (deposits), assembly and distribution of financial statements, delivery and pick up of payroll and processing bills at town hall.
  • Effective verbal and written skills to communicate clearly with clients and team members.
  • Responsible to maintain CSS email.
  • Answer all incoming calls, and greet all clients.
  • Responsible to maintain list for all monies received by bankruptcy and accounting departments, issue receipts for bankruptcy department as needed.
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity to portray the Firm in a positive manner.
  • Responsible to distribute all mail, maintain and order postage supplies as needed. Prepare all courier packages/documents as needed.
  • Cover office administration duties as needed.
  • Maintain and replenish all office supplies including paper, envelopes and business cards etc.
  • Responsible to maintain control sheet for filing government forms.
  • Responsible to maintain and issue parking tokens.


Bookkeeping


  • Responsible for HST and year end file preparation.
  • Responsible to maintain weekly and bi-weekly payroll for clients including payroll remittances and WSIB.
  • Bookkeeping (including HST Filing).
  • Corporate tax installments.


Personal Tax Returns


  • Set up new clients in T1 Program, Caseware, Doc-it and Time & Bill.
  • Responsible to respond to CRA regarding the processing review inquiries.
  • Responsible to prepare personal tax returns T1’s as needed including assembling tax returns, answering client questions regarding the NOA etc.

The Successful Candidate Will Have


  • Minimum 10 years bookkeeping experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • College or equivalent experience
