We are currently seeking a dynamic & guest experience focused Assistant Manager to join our team of dedicated wine and food enthusiasts. The successful candidate will be responsible for all front-of-house food and beverage (including alcohol) operations/service at Peller Estate Winery with the goal of ensuring high quality dining experiences through outstanding technical service standards and engaging hospitality.

The successful candidate would be required to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.

We Are Looking For a Teammate With

• College/University graduate with 2 years of supervisory experience in an upscale restaurant environment
• Post secondary education in Hospitality or a related field an asset
• Passion for customer service
• Graduate of or current enrolment in an internationally recognized Sommelier program or WSET program would be considered an asset
• Proven track record of leadership and coaching a team for high performance
• Smart serve certification

This Teammate Will Be Accountable For

• All Estate Wine Group properties and Andrew Peller Limited Wine Shop locations
• Provides daily leadership to front of house (FOH) team including;
• Dining-Menu options/property wines / accessories / experiences / Wine Club membership benefits / events
• Maximizes revenues per guest transaction (including up-selling) via a solid understanding of:
• Ensures a Safe and Healthy Work Environment through the effective operation of the Health and Safety program and Joint Health and Safety Committee and ensures compliance with government regulations
• Coaching FOH team members to ensure performance/talent/service excellence; recognizing when to engage Human Resources to assist with performance management concerns
• Supports execution of business strategies to meet/exceed financial (including Wine Club sales) objectives for Peller Estates, including supporting Restaurant Manager in P&L management
• Acts as Interim Restaurant Manager when Restaurant Manager is away from the Restaurant.
• Opening and closing duties/responsibilities, leading pre-shift meetings, attending weekly Operations meetings, ensuring dining menus are prepared and current.
• Responding efficiently and effectively to guest concerns/complaints
• Assisting with FOH team member onboarding aligning with Standards of Service for all food and beverage experiences
