Job Description

JR Accountant / Accountant Intern

Based in Vaughan, we have a growth opportunity for a JR Accountant / Accounting Intern position. Reporting to the Controller, the role is responsible for financial analysis and reporting, budget, monthly intercompany reconciliations and analysis of accounts. This position will have the opportunity to assist with other accounting duties and projects on an as-needed basis. As a recent university graduate, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn hands on all aspects of accounting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete reconciliations of inter-company accounts and resolve matters arising therein.
  • Assist in preparing of annual external audit reporting packages and working papers.
  • Assist in month-end close process, identifying efficiencies in organization, systems and processes.
  • Assist with payroll, preparation of T4’s, T4A and T2200.
  • Assist in preparation of annual group budget.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting as a minimum and CPA process started.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables and to coordinate enhancements to financial reporting and control environments.
  • Rich experience with Outlook, advanced Excel, QuickBooks and ERP systems for financial reporting.
  • 3 general accounting experience
  • Core competencies include: problem solving, results orientation, communication, team work, drive, and adaptability.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills supporting a responsive approach to interact confidently with producers.
