As a Surgical Innovations and Advance Technologies Account Manager, you play a key role in selling and promoting Medtronic’s advanced surgical stapling and energy based products. You will join a strong and diverse team – together we are responsible for Endo Mechanical & Intelligent Devices, Soft Tissue Implants and Energy Based Devices. This is a rewarding and challenging position which provides the opportunity to truly make an impact and achieve positive outcomes to patients lives through less invasive surgical solutions.
Align with Manager to build and execute on a comprehensive strategic plan to exceed sales revenue targets on a quarterly basis. Collaborate with Manager, Marketing and other business unit colleagues to identify and close revenue generating opportunities. Provide detailed and bold sales forecasts; identifying risk, action items, and resources needed to achieve. This role involves fluidly and cohesively working across the Medtronic matrix and with key customers to evolve the role according to rapidly changing market dynamics.
The purpose of the position is the development of long-term relationships with customers. Own, lead and contribute to the account blue sheet and strategic selling process. Liaise with Strategic Partnership Manager (SPM) and Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for account development.
A day in the life.
Ø Promotes and sells Medtronic's products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
Ø Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including distributors and healthcare professionals.
Ø Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs, and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's products and/or services.
Ø Promotes and establishes education of the company's products and/or services.
Ø Conducts market research including customers and competitors’ activities.
Ø Implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.
Ø Communicates customer feedback on new products and/or modifications to existing products or applications to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing.
Ø Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR)
Ø Foster a strategic approach to drive consistent growth.
Ø Be laser focused to exceed AOP, each quarter, while diligently managing expenses.
Ø Bold and accurate forecasting is key!
Ø Effectively managing/optimizing consignment inventory is critical.
Ø The position requires a true entrepreneurial, ‘hunter’ skillset.
Ø With Manager, coordinate the schedules of local Clinical Specialists (where applicable) to optimize procedural case coverage/patient programming and other required tasks.
Ø Successful completion of required (and ongoing) product and sales related training curriculum.
Ø Compliance with completing Medtronic functional training and education modules.
Ø Manage hospital, SSO and GPO contracts (Pre-tender, Tender, Implementation).
Ø Building a robust Capital Funnel and associated Sales Plan is essential.
Ø Optimize increasing technical scope that often crosses OU lines
Ø Clearly articulate strategic objectives to navigate and deliver value to Provincial healthcare systems.
Ø Establish education programs related to the company's products and/or services.
Ø Drive share within the defined market and territory
Ø Ability to support account clinical support demands as required.
Ø Implement and execute launch plans for defined portfolio
Ø Develop relationships and maintain continuity within the defined market
Ø Liase with marketing and engage key clinical stakeholders and administrators in a broader “value” story regarding the related product offering associated with the position
