2D Background Colour Artist

Our Ottawa studio is looking for BG Colour Artists for an exciting 2D series!

Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood and LA. Since its inception over 20 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Meet deadlines and quotas as assigned by production management.
• Collaborate with Supervisors to complete revisions and other changes.
• Ensure that all artwork is stored and backed up on Shotgrid.
• Complete all layouts while maintaining the style and quality of the show.
• Paint the background layout of a shot
• Use location designs as a reference to paint all layouts for assigned shots.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Great attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience working with Harmony productions is an asset.
• Currently legally eligible to work in Canada
• Ontario residents residing outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are preferred for this role.
• Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas.
• Must have strong understanding of colour, lighting and shadows.
• A strong understanding of perspective
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop in a similar role is an asset.
• Industry experience on a 2D television, streaming, or feature production is an asset.
• Excellent teamwork skills.

START DATE: Oct 2, 2023
