Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood and LA. Since its inception over 20 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Draw and paint the background layout of a shot for the Animators to animate based on the Storyboard.
• Ensure that all artwork is stored and backed up on Shotgun.
• Use location designs as reference to draw all layouts for assigned shots.
• Complete assigned layouts while maintaining the style and quality of the show.
• Meet deadlines and quotas as assigned by production management.
• Collaborate with the BG Layout Supervisor to complete revisions and other changes.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Currently legally eligible to work in Canada
• Experience working with Harmony productions is an asset.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Must have strong perspective drawing skills.
• Industry experience on a 2D television production is an asset.
• Great attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to do both line and paint is an asset
• Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop in a similar role is an asset.
• Ontario residents residing outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are preferred for this role.

START DATE: Sept 18, 2023

All Atomic employees in this role have the opportunity to work remotely within Ontario, artists in Ottawa and the surrounding areas can also choose in-studio and hybrid options.
