The Position

Slate is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the Slate Asset Management team as a Fall Analyst based out of our Toronto office. This individual will support Slate’s growing platform in providing timely analytical support and supporting the management of our real estate portfolios, while also performing broader asset management duties as needed. The Fall Analyst will join a small team with direct mentorship and exposure to senior leadership and will be able to take the initiative to present investment and asset management ideas and insights.

In addition to strong analytical capabilities, Slate is looking for intellectually curious individuals who will excel on a dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial team and are looking to grow and add value for our partners. Our goal is to extend offers for full time Analyst roles upon successful completion of the Fall Analysts position.

Responsibilities

• Database management
• Market research and analysis
• Preparation of cash flow and underwriting analysis of value-add opportunities
• Special projects
• Investment underwriting & analysis, including the preparation of investment committee materials
• Preparation of quarterly, annual and ad-hoc investor reporting materials
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts, and managing the leasing, operations and capital planning for a portfolio of assets

Qualifications and Experience

• Outstanding communication skills
• Self-motivated individual with a high level of attention to detail
• Currently completing undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or related field during the second or third year of study
• Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong team player with exceptional work ethic
