Toronto Port Security Guard Jobs

Manage the flow of passengers into authorized vehicles through the inner curb-side location.

Maintain communications at all times with fellow Security Guards, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff.

At all times, assist, communicate and update the passenger with commercial vehicle status and/or inquiries when applicable.

Assisting and coordinating passenger queuing.

Deliver the expected service in a consistent, predicable and courteous manner to both passenger and the driver.

Identify and report commercial vehicle activity that contravenes the GTAA Rules and Regulations and Conditions of Permits for taxicabs and limousines.

Providing exceptional service to enhance customer experience

Be proactive in helping everyone have an outstanding customer experience at the Property

Approach guests or visitors at directory boards, within building lobbies, and elsewhere to offer directions or general assistance.

Prepare written reports using the Manager's standard report-writing program

Assist Management with general matters, etc.

Respond to emergency situations, medical, criminal, hazards, etc.

Follow reasonable direction from Security Dispatch with respect to attending calls for emergency or other related security details

Provide CPR and First Aid as needed

Enforce the Centre’s Rules & Regulations and the Trespass to Property Act.

Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills

Community college diploma in a related discipline of Security and Life Safety, Risk Management or Criminology (or equivalent business management qualification)

Ability to interact with members of corporate and tenant senior management, internally and externally

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Excellent public speaking and presentation skills in group settings

Exceptional problem solving, and decision making skills

Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts

Must have a valid (WSIB-Approved) First Aid and CPR Level-C Certification

Must be willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check upon offer of employment

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY EXECUTE THE ABOVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Review quotation received from subcontractors and make sure that it is in line with project requirements.

Coordinate requirements for price requests from subcontractors

Experience: 1 year of retail/sales leadership experience (supervisor or people management not necessary)

Provide technical product education by articulating the value and benefit of the product.

Develop, maintain, and disseminate product and general company knowledge through appropriate communication channels.

Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal guest experience and support store operations.

Ensure team uses in-store technology to support store operations and provide positive guest experiences.

Team lead role indirectly responsible for subset of store employees on the floor or as delegated by Store Manager

Crisis Management, Effective Communications, Management of Resistant Behaviour, Mental Health Awareness and Use of Force

Minimum of 1 year Security Supervisory experience

Minimum 2 years Security Guard experience

Strong communication skills in English

Must be able to provide coaching, training, and update site Manager on new trainees progress

Previous security experience in healthcare industry would be an asset
