Staff Technologist – Diagnostic Imaging Jobs

Effective time management skills, with the ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner

Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists

Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred

Proficient in the use of diagnostic imaging equipment and knowledge of radiological health and safety procedures

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and with patients

Experience with electronic medical records and image archiving systems is a plus

Previous PACS experience an asset.

Grade XII or recognized equivalent

Keyboard Speed - 35 wpm.

Ability to read, write speak and understand English.

Ability to interact well with others.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to perform home management skills (e.g. vacuuming, sweeping, preparing meals, etc.).

Current certification with CAMRT (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.

Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality.

Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.

Demonstrated knowledge of current MRI theory and practices within a client/family centred model of care.

Knowledge of standards for documentation, experience in preparation of formal documents, including letters, memorandums, reports and presentations

Minimum of five (5) years experience in a health care environment providing administrative support & office coordination at the executive level

Proficient and accurate keyboarding skills – 60 wpm

Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Lync), SAP and other software

Must demonstrate strong communication skills and professional demeanor

A recognized one year post secondary in office administration, business administration or secretarial diploma

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience with RightFax and Laser Fiche considered and asset.

Experience in Diagnostic Imaging Department or of Diagnostic Imaging Requisition processing preferred.

Completion of high school education, Manitoba standards required.

Must be highly motivated, meticulous, detailed orientated and have strong organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize work under the direction of the Manager and adhere to details.

Previous experience is an asset

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound

Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure

Comprehension of the technical language in order to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions

Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Assist in data entry and documentation of patient/procedural information into applicable information systems including radiology information system, bed management system etc.

Prior radiological technologist knowledge and experience in a complex, fast paced inter-professional team environment.

Sound knowledge and skills in handling patient health information where its confidentiality and security is important.

Manage inventory and logistics of supplies including ordering, tracking and stocking

Verify if special and procedure specific surgical supplies are in stock based on patient schedule and radiologist requirements

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the diagnostic imaging field required

Operational functions for designated areas of the department.

Assist the Director with preparation and follow-up of capital expenditures, operating and personnel budgets.

Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification

IV experience preferred or willing to be trained in intravenous injection and will be required to use a contrast injector

CAMRT CT courses or CT Imaging Certificate an asset

Advanced knowledge/education in anatomy and physiology, including cross-sectional anatomy preferred

Minimum 2 years CT Technologist experience in the last three years preferred

Minimum 2 years helical multi-slice CT scan experience (preferably on a Toshiba CT scanner) preferred

Satisfactory completion of formal radiography training in an approved Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) training school or equivalent

Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario(C.M.R.T.O.)

Demonstrated ability to function in a professional and courteous manner

Reception duties - answering telephones, receiving and relaying messages, receiving and directing visitors, distributes incoming out-going mail;

Completes a variety of standard forms for registration/billing purposes;

Proficient computer experience and excellent keyboarding skills is preferred

At least one year of recent experience as an Echo Sonographer

CMRITO Specialty certification for Echocardiography

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Reviews patient medical history and supporting clinical information.

Ensures that the order (or standing order) is complete and contains relevant information.

Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred

Experience in a tertiary care setting an asset

Experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo preferred

Experience with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7 and Xcelera Workstations an asset

Experience with General Electric Vivid E95 an asset
