Job Description
VACANCY STATUS: Full Time


Job Summary


Reporting to the Director of Diagnostic Services, this position is responsible for the organization and coordination of resources for the provision of quality examinations and patient care within the Diagnostic Imaging department. Ensures the efficient, effective and safe department operations at all times. May be delegated specific areas of additional responsibility within the department. If appropriate, will assume the responsibilities of Radiation Safety Officer.


Responsibilities


  • Assume responsibility (in designated modalities) for cost control and operating expenditures.
  • Contributes as a member of the Program team towards development and implementation of team goals.
  • Operational functions for designated areas of the department.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.
  • Responsible for the policy and procedure manuals for their designated modalities ensuring yearly reviews and updates documented appropriately;
  • Assume responsibility for management of equipment installation projects (in designated modalities) including coordination with the facilities team;
  • Participate in planning, data collection, and the preparation of reports as appropriate.
  • Represent the department at assigned meetings and other internal and external activities. Exhibit leadership behaviours and assume a liaison role with other departments to ensure ongoing lines of communication and quality improvement activities.
  • Coordinate the hiring and performance management of staff. Develop staff scheduling programs to maximize staff and imaging equipment utilization and minimize overtime.
  • Coordinate patient schedule for their designated modalities ensuring appropriate time is allocated to meet wait time guidelines
  • Assist the Director with preparation and follow-up of capital expenditures, operating and personnel budgets.
  • Be familiar with current hospital personnel policies and procedures and have knowledge of their purpose and intent.
  • Assume duties of the RSO, if appropriate.
  • Requires the ability to follow-through on commitments in an orderly fashion.
  • Assume responsibility for developing plans and initiating procedures (staffing, scheduling, education, systems analysis, and personnel development, hiring) in designated areas of the department.
  • Maintain effective communications between the Imaging sections.


Qualifications


  • Certified and registered member in good standing with the CMRTO preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the diagnostic imaging field required
  • French Language proficiency an asset.
  • Financial and business acumen.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years current and progressive management/leadership experience in a health environment preferred.
