Job Description
VACANCY STATUS: Full Time


Job Summary


Reporting to the Director, Cancer Program and Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program (ESC RCP), the Manager, Outpatient Systemic Therapy strategically plans, collaborates and implements, with multidisciplinary team members, operational and patient-focused care objectives within the Oncology Program. This position provides leadership and oversight for the delivery of systemic therapy at Windsor Regional Hospital and supports systemic therapy at regional sites. This includes the coordination of services and management of nursing and clerical teams, budgets, infrastructure, and processes related to outpatient systemic treatments. This position will oversee initiatives that improve patient experience, staff engagement, and program efficiency while upholding the vision of WRH, Outstanding Care – No Exceptions.


Key areas of focus include ensuring compliance in the delivery of oncology care according to the professional standards and provincial requirements (OH-CCO), collaborating with other internal and external stakeholders, and executing on the corporate, regional and provincial priorities as it relates to the provision of high-quality cancer care.


Responsibilities


  • Prepare documentation and participate in evaluation and acquisition of capital equipment and supplies with the foundation.
  • Analyze current and future trends and growth opportunities and propose new or revised programs that will optimally position the program for regional and national excellence.
  • Assess programmatic needs and lead the preparation and implementation of systemic program activities and initiatives.
  • Track use of internal and external resources and make recommendations for appropriate or improved use as needed.
  • Analyze clinical practice and identify opportunities to increase quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Lead the day-to-day operation and coordination of patient care services in the Cancer Program.
  • Assure compliance with applicable clinical ambulatory standards and accreditations.
  • Leverage data and information to identify opportunities for quality improvement; charter process improvement teams to address areas of need.
  • Ensure effective management and maintenance/trouble-shooting of facilities and equipment, in conjunction with the Clinical Practice Manager.
  • Provide facility management/oversight as defined by clinic operations administration.
  • Maintain compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.
  • Supervise registered nurses and other healthcare providers who deliver nursing care.
  • Review operating budgets, including volume projections and expense and revenue estimates.
  • Develop community needs assessment and make recommendations on program changes related to community assessment outcomes and strategic plan.
  • Expand current and/or develop new processes to survey patient and/or caregiver experience related to cancer services.
  • Analyze and monitor actual budget performance and address variances.
  • Initiate the development and revision of policies and procedures specific to the Cancer Program.
  • Formulate program objectives, goals, and strategies; collaboratively assess new opportunities and develop actionable and tactical plans to meet growth and programmatic objectives.

Qualifications


  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant management experience required.
  • Program and project management skills including strategic planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in nursing, clinical and/or specialty field
  • A recognized equivalent master’s degree preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a regulated Health Profession, Health Administration or a related field
  • Relevant professional/specialty association membership preferred.
